Scotty Newton - All Round Entertainer

So after I sent an open invite to any artists on Outcast challenging them to a one on one street fight I was answered by CYD424. The subject of the new updated Amazing Spiderman from 2012's upcoming film. A few posts ago I wasn't sure which piece of mine to enter- went with this God I hate that piece of mine.... Anyway CYD threw up this snazzy pic Amazing- from the pose to the texture of the costume to the effective background. It also just makes my spidey look really fat ='( lol Anyway after 8 days of voting the results are in and in my first solo art fight ever...... I WON!! =D 6 votes to 4 success

I don't usually post my daily sketches but some people were asking to see what I do every day. Admittedly this is the first Daily Sketch Challenge I've done in a verrrrrrrrry long time but here it is in all its.... er..... glory..... Subject- 15- 30 min sketch of VENOM - ie the big black scary alien symbiote costume that's.... big black and scary lol Went for more a Todd Macfarlane approach, where he's more like a big muscly guy and just a bigger version of Spidey, rather than a huge drooling monster Pencil sketch- 10 mins Time to take a photo with my phone and upload- 5 mins Mucking about with it in Photoshop- 12 mins so total time = 27 mins =D (so let's not be expecting miracles here people lol)

I chose next year's movie redesign of the Amazing Spider-man- (you can see pics in my last post) Anyway after loads of problems (my graphics pad deciding to pack in, Photoshop crashing, MangaStudio deciding it hates me, me apparently forgetting what girls look like, and of course trying to find Christmas presents.......) I finally got something half presentable. It's not my original idea, things are out of proportion, alleyways aren't my strong point and overall it's nothing like I'd hoped but here ya are! ='( After mucking about on Photoshop afterwards I came up with this version.... Which one should I submit??? Will it matter??!!! UPDATES COMING TOMORROW!

Ok so I just did something verrrrry foolish. I sent an open invite to any artists on Outcast who wanted a piece of me in a down and dirty, 1-on-1 street fight. 2 artists 1 week 1 subject I got taken up by Cyd 424 who's just came off a winning streak.... CRAP He was so confident that he even let me pick the subject..... My friend Lorcan suggested a theme of space which could have been pretty sweet, but after the battle royal with very vague, open ended topics I decided to go with something a bit more specific, and so our topic is......... THE NEW AMAZING SPIDER-MAN!! Yes I've criticised it to hell and I still think the reboot's a terrible idea but hey it's got Emma Stone in it and we can never complain with more Emma Stone =D Plus no one's really drawn a good sketch of this suit yet so yeah, I'm not going to be the first lol but maybe Cyd will lol Deadline next Sunday- will keep has updated =D

Ok so round 4 is due up tomorrow so I'll post our final piece and our opponents piece when I get a free minute So our them for this round, which I've just realised is the FINAL ROUND ='( is Siberian Exile After I let the team down on previous rounds I let L34D pick our subject and do prelim sketches. He had been playing Skyrim alot and said it inspired his piece and I loved the sketch. Then we decided to swap roles.... I would take over as inker and he'd colour it up. Anyone who knows me knows I'm not an inker. At all. My hands are too shaky from mass amounts of alcoh...... video games.... cough so this is the first piece I've inked in months and also my first piece ever using Manga Studio instead of Photoshop =) What do you guys think? Have we a chance of scoring our first points???! *edit I did another version of her while playing about on MS all that's left now is for L34D to colour her and crop her and that's the end of the Tag ...

Ok so after one narrow defeat and one defeat by default, me and L34D was raring to go. He threw six or seven insane sketches at me, all with totally different ideas. After looking through them, I decided I liked the idea of Superman flying beside an aeroplane and a child looking out the window at him in awe. L34D fired these sexy lines my way... I coloured her up with L34D doing some touch ups and Bam here's our entry So our opponents went a different route and threw up this bad boy We were praised for our colours but shot down for our lack of originality once more.... Result...... We lost 7 votes to 3 Once again my fault for picking an 'unoriginal' idea Team Rorschach F4N4T1C total points:     still 0....... craaaappp only one round left....

Ok so after narrowly losing Round 1 we were pumped for Round 2. Our theme was The Far East L34D through some sweet sketches at me, eventually throwing down these sweet lines this for me was a real chalenge to colour, I had no idea what the sun/ sky would look like and how to do the snow. But then I had the week from hell. I was really down and stressed because of some personal crap and I ended up missin the deadline the deadline, completely letting L34D down. And here's what our opponents Nate and SirWaka put up... I mean that wouldn't look out of place in a Marvel/DC comic of today... just wow needless to say they weren't impressed by our lack of entry and they let it be heard. This didn't really help the whole bad week thing but I picked up my tablet and in 3 hours i came up with this, just so L34D's efforts wouldn't go to waste... Doesn't really do his lines justice, and there's alot I would do differently if I were to do it again n...

Hi guys, been a while since I uploaded here! Over the past few months, I've been part of an art Tag Team Tournament over at Outcast Studios. The way it works is we each picked a partner, I was lucky getting L34DF4N4TIC who is just sick, and each round we get paired up with another Tag Team and are both assigned a theme. So I was given a script of a scene from a fan (and not at all real) sequel to the Matrix films, and I was asked to sketch some storyboards. Decided I would give myself a break from drawing comics and try storyboards again, with this being my first digital attempt here's the original script Aaaaand here's my interpretation- enjoy! So me and my mate Chris heard that a film festival in Northern Ireland were looking for short movie entries.Us being the smart people that we are left ourselves 2 days to write, shoot and edit something. So yeah I used to do full on reviews of movies I'd seen before I started this blog, but I'm going to attempt to sum them up in 10 words here.... Transformers: Dark of the Moon Explosions, Rosie > Megan, repeated Linkin Park, nice NASA stuff,   disappointing. Fast (and Furious) Five Nice plot, action, really enjoyable except The Rock's gay beard. Green Lantern Crap CGI, crap plot, neither funny nor epic, as expected. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides Too much Johnny Depp, so so ending, way too long. X Men First Class Summer shock, great cast, sweet Wolverine cameo, best X men. Thor Typical Iron Man clone, some great humour and nice action. So I went to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, but before I even went to the cinema I had made 2 grave mistakes 1. I had read the books, notoriously ever Harry Potter movie has fell waaaay short of the book 2. I let myself get carried away with how awesome the trailer looked. I had such a huge expectation for it that it had a lot to live up to if I was to walk away satisified. Yeh, we're not really taking you seriously anymore, Vold My result, not as much of a let down as Transformers 3, but I still walked out of it feeling short changed. And everyones been complaining at me, saying it was the best/ most emotional film ever, so I'll explain why it was good, (easily the best Potter) but why didn't live up to the hype for me. It ticked most of the boxes up until the end *Good action scenes, *Emma Watson, *Sweet sequence with no dialogue during the final battle where they're running through Hogwarts and there's big monster things everywh...
