The Scottscars 2016 Movie Awards

So it's been quite the year. Quite the year indeed. From celebrity deaths to crazy political shifts to me spending the last 8 weeks recovering from surgery, quality films have been needed more than ever to distract us average joes from the chaos of 2016.            Once again, I didn't get to see as many new movies as I would have liked (104 to be exact, 23 of them being rewatches, but who's counting?) but the year certainly has given us some incredible highs, like when we discovered just what was really going on in Arrvial , and some facepalm inducing lows, like TMNT 2 from start to finish. So with that, here are my thought on the past year, followed by some predictions I made last year ( which didn't go so well) and a brand new shiny set for next year. Enjoy! THE AWARDS! Food Fight Award for FAVOURITE ANIMATED MOVIE Boy and the Beast Runners up: Zootopia Moana Kung Fu Panda 3 Your Name The Mummy Returns Award for BEST CGI Jungle

The 2015 Film Awards

THE 2015 FILM AWARDS Well here it is folks, the awards that really matter. The most prestigious and exclusive awards of my entire street. These are my favourite films of 2015 and their messy counterparts, the biggest flops. To top things off you can see how I got on with last year’s predictions as well as my predictions for 2016. TOP FILM OF THE YEAR WHIPLASH Stand out performances and intriguing character motives all create the most tense and interesting film of the year. The question asked here is 'how far would you go for greatness?' and luckily Whiplash goes all the way. Runners Up- Birdman Inside Out Ex Machina Bridge of Spies BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT FANT4STIC Although expectations weren't high, it's still incredible that something this disjointed and boring was allowed to be shown in cinemas. Watching 2 hours of Cillit Bang commercials with Barry Scott is a much better use of your time. Runners Up- Terminator Genisy
