Thoughts at 30

Yesterday was my last day in my 20s. Flip, am I old now?       I'm definitely guilty of being someone who puts too much stock in certain dates and occasions as a time to reflect and re-evaluate. I mean, look at this blog- I think every post is a new year's eve or a milestone birthday.  And hey, this year's no different - but it might be the last time.      I made a note that last year, on my 29th birthday, that my life at age 30 was on a wildly different trajectory than I had imagined it would be when I was younger. And in almost every way it's turned out alot better and a heck of alot more exciting!  I'm currently finishing up an animated short film, an absolute dream project that I never imagined I 'd be put in charge of and I have a hell of a stand up crew helping make something that is far too ambitious. I'm working in an industry I love, in a great house and in a long term relationship. I even have a tortoise (!) ...

The 30 before 30 list

The 30 Before 30 List       Don't panic, I've only just turned 29 today. Still in the twenties. We're not at the big 30 yet.     Back when I turned 18 (or was it 21?) I wrote a list of 30 things I wanted to have done before I reached the big 3-0 and I'm pleased to say I hit them all!* The good thing is I still have a year to polish off the remaining goals and 'update' the list, just a tad. *None of them**.  **Well maybe one or two, if you twist the rules. Out with the old      The list was your typical and conventional one- married, kid(s), mortgage, fancy car, pug, have travelled the world and even more ludicrous ideas like 'have paid off my student loan' LOL Seriously, how can the interest be above my repayments?      I've picked up one or two few things since I wrote that initial 'to do list' though and noticed a few issues with the entire premise of it. So much of life today is focussed on 'where you should be at...

Day 7 of the 30 Day, 30 drawing, 30 minute challenge Today's subject is: Your Favourite Word Contenders were 'Kamehameha' from Dragonball, 'Pikachu' as said numerous times by.... Pikachu, and 'Fatality' from Mortal Kombat. Went with this glorious sound from my childhood Who doesn't love Crash Bandicoot?

30 Day Challenge #6 BOOK CHARACTER

So today's (yesterday's by the time I post this) is to draw Your Favourite Character from a Book Hmmm... Books. Not my strong point. I think I've read about 10 books in my life and 7 of them involved a certain wizard... But anyway decided to draw James Bond. But moreso in the way he's described in the books. He's older, wiser, not so much a muscle bound, gadget wielding super agent but a slimmer, more mature, cigar smoking gentleman. Why a tennis racket? In Devil May Care (the last Bond book I read), he spent alot of time playing tennis, while getting info on the villain

30 Day Challenge #5 BEST FRIEND

So today's topic of the 30 day 30 minute 30 drawing challenge is Your Best Friend This was not a tough decision at all for me. Right from the off I knew what I had to do. She's perfect for me. I just don't know what I'd do without her. She looks great. She feels great. We can watch DVDs together or even do our shopping and its always a joy. I work well with her. Sometimes she plays hard to get but we always get by in the end. She does what I ask, with no questions asked. We very rarely argue. But most importantly, She always gets turned on when I'm around. It has to be.... Macy the Macbook Pro Terrible quick drawing but it's 1am here and I've had a very long and stressful week so it's the best I'm for getting outta me

30 Day Challenge #4 PLACE

Day 4 of the 30 day, 30 minute, 30 drawings challenge and todays subject is Your Favourite Place This was quite a tough one for me as I really couldn't think of that one place I can chill out, relax and feel totally at home in. Nowhere was really jumping out, Decided to go with the cinema. Got a bit of practice at drawing in perspective, went over the time limit and didn't get it finished but sure, it's something a bit different. Crappy quality, phone camera, sorry! Had to put in Cesare =)
