The Scottscars! Can't wait for the Oscars?!

The Scottscars 2012 I think it’s more fun to have an awards ceremony at the end of the year, just a bit better, more tidy. So grab your tux and get ready to be outraged at not the Oscars, but the Scottscars! Brought to you by the genius minds at scottynewton.blogspot.co.uk The Nicolas Cage award for Best Actor Tom Hardy. Bane was badass, This Means War was something a bit different and shows the man isn’t a one trick pony. Lawless was fantastic. Hope he continues to get the big roles. Will probably get extremely ill and be forced to retire along with Christian Bale soon though due to his constant, drastic weight changes. The Kristen Stewart award for Best Actress. Jennifer Lawrence. Wow, was she incredible in Silver Linings Playbook. So nice to see a leading actor from a teen book adaptation actually being able to act! Chronicle, Chronicled

Chronicle, Chronicled SPOILERS EVERYWHERE! Woo….. another teen superhero film. Or is it? Chronicle follows three teens who get super telekinetic powers from touching a rock, er…. thing, in an underground cave. It then follows their different reactions to their telekinesis. We have Steve, the confident character, running for class president who likes to feel on top, Matt, who wants the group to be responsible and keep their powers hidden, and Andrew, a social outcast, the bullied kid who has parent-issues who slowly loses his grasp on his new found strength. The story was pretty tight, nice to see the parallel reactions to the powers. In particular Andrew, (played by Dane DeHaan) stole the show with his transformation particularly well handled. Andrew always keeps a barrier between himself and the world, from his camera at the start to a physical manifestation when his powers go into overload and he becomes more obsessed with his strength.
