This is it folks! Here's the entries to Round 1 of the 4th Character Battle Royale Tournament! A quick recap on how it works.... Every artist picks ONE character. This character stays with them. They are paired up against another artist and their character. Each artist must show a battle between the 2 characters. If you look at my blog post from about 2 entries ago, you'll see that I chose Goku from Dragonall and my opponent chose Cucumber from Cucumber Quest. Well my opponent from what I can tell is a very experienced comic artist with loooooads of experience in full colour comic strips and a day job (ithink in animation) that involves drawing every day. So Round 1 of my latest art competition has been drawn up. The 4th Character Battle Royale, hosted over at Outcast Studios The Competition: Every artist picks one character and said character stays with them for the duration of the tournament. I chose Goku from Dragonball Z. Goku in standard and Super Saiyan forms Each artist is then paired up against someone else and both have to draw a fictional fight between their 2 characters. We had around 50 artists enter this time, the biggest ever in a CBR tournament! Round 1: I was drawn up against animatrix1490 who had chosen Cucumber from Cucumber Quest, a webcomic I think. Cucumber This artist has an extremely impressive portfolio of work and this'll sure be one heck of a fight! Just how do you make one of the most powerful warriors in the universe, capable of levelling planets and supernatural abilities, fight a little bunny rabbit?! So the final votes were counted and I lost 13-14. Am I gutted to be out? Of course, but let's hang on a second here! 13 people voted for me against a guy who I totally admire and would have annihilated me a few months back! I was even winning on votes for a while! So hey, you win some you lose some, but I gave a pro, someone who I shouldn't have even registered against, a run for his money. And with a bust up wrist. So thank you sir, I'll take that result and hit 'em back even harder next time. =D

That's right people ROUND 2 IS HERE and for the first time I'M ACTUALLY IN IT! So I won my last fight against the great Rachael Wells and I was pitted against the 2 time CBR winner and dutch pro comic artist, SirWaka. Problem #1 - opponent I was also on a film set for a few days this week and had some pre production work to do for that. Problem #2 - time Oh yeah and I've a wrist that looks partially broken/fractured/I'll find out when I get time to go to A&E. Problem #3 - injury Annnd I'm using a tablet that I've only used once before and barely know any of the controls for. Problem #4 - er..... tablet.... *By the way, this fight is a week or two old and my piece was completed on my old tablet and not my new shiny Intuos!* It's time for the third Character Battle Royale Tournament over at Outcast Studios! The tagline is 'evil shall rise' this time and the theme is villains. No more tag teams, this is every man for himself! The idea is for each participant to choose a villain. They are then teamed up with someone else in a one on one fight to the death. Each artist will draw BOTH characters locked in mortal combat. Pretty much this guy but about 300000x bigger My chosen warrior is..... Galactus , the devourer of worlds! (from Fantastic Four) Why? I just thought it would be interseting to see how everyone would approach a one on one fight when one of the participants is bigger than a planet.
