Me vs. 20th Century Fox! Piccolo Battle!

So after mucking about with a 3D model for last week's Punxsutawney Pete I decided to move onto something a bit more fun. To challenge myself and see if I could come up with a more faithful depiction of Piccolo from Dragonball in an hour on an ipad, without a reference picture, than Fox could with a $30m-$100m budget (real precise there, Wikipedia). THE TARGET Just a giant fighting Yoshi THE CONTENDERS FOX, established movie studio, been around since time began. You've all seen their logo. Didn't know what a Dragonball was until they heard money was involved ME, future owner of Fox and just about every other major player in the film/entertainment industry. Very few have seen my logo. Own my own set of Dragonballs, that's right Typical annoying fanboy who owns his own set of Dragonballs THE RULES Successfully create a Piccolo with a $30-$100m budget within 2 years with a team of industry experts for Fox. Or do it in an hour on an ipad with v...

Project 250- Week 5

So far so good folks, here's week 5 of Project 250. Project 250 is my goal to do 5 Daily Sketch Challenges a week, One a day Monday through Friday, until the end of 2013, with the goal of having 250 sketches at least, at the end. The Daily Sketch Challenges are posted over at Outcast Studios, go check them out! 2013 has already been an absolutely abysmal year for me personally and this week included a nice, depressing 7 and a half hour hospital stay. But I would totally recommend a daily challenge like this to anyone in any aspect, whether that be writing, arts, sports anything because seeing improvements in something that you love doing, (and you really do see them when you do something everyday), is so rewarding that it can help numb other pains. Without further ado, here's sketches 21-25 Monday Alfred Pennyworth Tuesday Storm Wednesday Hippogriff Thursday Satana Friday Punxsutawney Phil Oh wait! That last one, you say? That last DSC of Phil ...

An Electrifying Second 3D Model!

So you may have seen my first attempt yesterday at a 3d model, Sonic the Hedgehog's head. Yes it was fairly crap but, hey it was a start! I'm now officially a day older, wiser and more experienced and here's model number 2! Starting with a low-res, low polygon generic monster shape Be rude not to throw in a few more polygons ARRRGGH! This is why I should have watched a tutorial! BAM! I call this one Pika- pain in the ass Bit of colour for giggles Maybe some texture here and there... Cell shaded maybe? Et voila! One finished Pokemon! Now only 600 or so left.... I can see why Gamefreak never made a proper 3D Pokemon game now.... I tried to base him on the old style Pikachu from the trading card, pre- anime days, hence him looking a little tubby =D

An Underwhelming Entrance Into the World of 3D

As some of you may know I'm soon to be starting a 2 year course in 3d modelling and animation, but I got bored and decided to start early =D Ok so it's not great and does look more like a 3 year old's drawing, but hey, it's a start! Lost my fecking tablet pen so this was with the Mac's trackpad, hence the messiness =/ Anyway this is supposed to be Sonic the hedgehog but looks more like his deformed and unwanted cousin Donic lol Time: 1 hour using Mudbox 2013
