Scotty Newton - All Round Entertainer

So Round 1 of my latest art competition has been drawn up. The 4th Character Battle Royale, hosted over at Outcast Studios The Competition: Every artist picks one character and said character stays with them for the duration of the tournament. I chose Goku from Dragonball Z. Goku in standard and Super Saiyan forms Each artist is then paired up against someone else and both have to draw a fictional fight between their 2 characters. We had around 50 artists enter this time, the biggest ever in a CBR tournament! Round 1: I was drawn up against animatrix1490 who had chosen Cucumber from Cucumber Quest, a webcomic I think. Cucumber This artist has an extremely impressive portfolio of work and this'll sure be one heck of a fight! Just how do you make one of the most powerful warriors in the universe, capable of levelling planets and supernatural abilities, fight a little bunny rabbit?! Movie Review Round Up! I Totally Recall Brave and Lawless ! First up on our Marvelous Movie Review Triple Bill is....   Total Recall (2012) You will not remember anything.... Yep that sounds about right. NO SPOILERS The good news is that there's no spoilers here at all. 'That's not like you, Scotty', you may be thinking. The simple reason is that I didn't really follow the plot well enough, to know enough about it, to spoil it! Damn, this movie doesn't let up. It's just 2 hours of constant action. Bizarre camera movements that make you feel sick, a consistently overwhelming score and ALOT of leaping! Seriously, every 2 seconds the actors are making some death defying leap in slow motion. Oh and everyone chases everyone a lot, it's like a big futuristic game of tag. Is there actually a plot to this film? Oh, there was? Ok before you come after me with pitchforks, I'll start by apologising for your recent distress. Two weeks without a post, including missing 2 Super Saturday Round Ups. We've all been crying ourselves to sleep but that all stops now. Time to wipe those tears away, because I'm back! Phew it's been one heckuva' busy few weeks. I've finished 6 Commissions, including The 2 for my boss (and I haven't been fired yet =D) 4 Birthday commission pieces (more on these soon!) I'm also 95% finished this website and have a few more projects lined up. Oh dear am I busy. Sooo many films I've watched recently and shamefully I haven't reviewed any. Just going to do some 'quickies' here so y'all can keep up =) The Avengers/Avengers Assemble I think the fact I saw it 3 times speaks for itself. Unbelievable CGI, great action sequences and c'mon, it's the freakin' Avengers on the big screen! What's not to love? Joss Whedon did the impossible and actually balanced it out in terms of characters, it wasn't the Iron Man show like everyone expected. And the two non-powered Avengers didn't entirely suck either. Genuinely great gags throughout helped balance it. Was a bit slow for the first half and didn't really come together until the arguments started on the Helicarrier, though.
