Scotty Newton - All Round Entertainer

Sooo many films I've watched recently and shamefully I haven't reviewed any. Just going to do some 'quickies' here so y'all can keep up =) The Avengers/Avengers Assemble I think the fact I saw it 3 times speaks for itself. Unbelievable CGI, great action sequences and c'mon, it's the freakin' Avengers on the big screen! What's not to love? Joss Whedon did the impossible and actually balanced it out in terms of characters, it wasn't the Iron Man show like everyone expected. And the two non-powered Avengers didn't entirely suck either. Genuinely great gags throughout helped balance it. Was a bit slow for the first half and didn't really come together until the arguments started on the Helicarrier, though. Watch it in 2D though if you want to see the darker scenes. +  Hulk. 'Nuff said. -   3D was too dark. Overall 9.1/10 Men in Black 3 Bit of a dark horse, this one. I think the main thing to take away from this is th...

Well here ya are folks, as promised, our new short movie! This short was made for the end of second year at uni and was written and directed by Eoin Feighan. Credits in the movie peeps so watch and enjoy =) Great craic working on this, looking forward to the next one now! Run time: 4 mins

For those of you who don't know already, I do Film Studies at university, which means that I'm involved in making short movies. Well this is our year 2 project, well at least the DVD cover of it. This is how I've spent my evening/night lol All on Photoshop CS5 with my Intros. I just couldn't resist giving a sneak peak of what is definitely the best student film that I've ever been involved in! Full movie coming soon guys! UPDATE: Just printed this out in Uni library printer Looks horrendous with their useless colour printer sorry fellow crew members!

So the final votes were counted and I lost 13-14. Am I gutted to be out? Of course, but let's hang on a second here! 13 people voted for me against a guy who I totally admire and would have annihilated me a few months back! I was even winning on votes for a while! So hey, you win some you lose some, but I gave a pro, someone who I shouldn't have even registered against, a run for his money. And with a bust up wrist. So thank you sir, I'll take that result and hit 'em back even harder next time. =D

That's right people ROUND 2 IS HERE and for the first time I'M ACTUALLY IN IT! So I won my last fight against the great Rachael Wells and I was pitted against the 2 time CBR winner and dutch pro comic artist, SirWaka. Problem #1 - opponent I was also on a film set for a few days this week and had some pre production work to do for that. Problem #2 - time Oh yeah and I've a wrist that looks partially broken/fractured/I'll find out when I get time to go to A&E. Problem #3 - injury Annnd I'm using a tablet that I've only used once before and barely know any of the controls for. Problem #4 - er..... tablet.... So things aren't looking to great 6 hours before deadline when I have nothing but a blank page and floating ideas and SirWaka's already posted an extremely intimidating preview of his piece. Anyways, with the help of my left hand, an extremely slow pace and some smoothing features on MangaStudio I came up with this My entry Really...

*By the way, this fight is a week or two old and my piece was completed on my old tablet and not my new shiny Intuos!* It's time for the third Character Battle Royale Tournament over at Outcast Studios! The tagline is 'evil shall rise' this time and the theme is villains. No more tag teams, this is every man for himself! The idea is for each participant to choose a villain. They are then teamed up with someone else in a one on one fight to the death. Each artist will draw BOTH characters locked in mortal combat. Pretty much this guy but about 300000x bigger My chosen warrior is..... Galactus , the devourer of worlds! (from Fantastic Four) Why? I just thought it would be interseting to see how everyone would approach a one on one fight when one of the participants is bigger than a planet. So yeah in Round One I got paired off with the consistently great Rachael Wells. She chose Loki (from Thor) meaning both of us would have to draw Galactus vs. Loki ...

FINALLY! A new tablet after wearing out my old Bamboo I was quite lucky with this one. The other week I was on the verge of buying the Intuos 4. My Bamboo's all but done and I decided it was time to step up into the professional market. So I go down to Currys and they haven't any in stock, nor are they getting any back in. Craaaappppp. I spend of the rest of the day angry at the world >=( The next day I decide to order one off Amazon. It means waiting a few days and relying on Amazon's turd delivery service to not smash the thing up in the post or leave it lying at their backside. Eh, why try out Wacom's site? They might have a student offer on. The Intuos 5 was just released THAT day. I was dangerously close to paying hundreds of pounds on something that was already outdated. So I gots me an Intuos 5 =D Wireless, over 2000 levels of pressure, tilt sensitivity, multi-touch gestures, really big, black surface and a really fecking big dent in my stu...
